I've wanted a kitchen scale for a while now, and while I still don't know how this one works, it does it's job well, it seems durable enough for some serious usage, and folds up neatly. It does have a warning to not get it dirty with flour or other particulates, I think it's to limit their liability in case of failure, besides, if you use it with a suitable container, and are moderately careful it won't ever get dirty.
